The DLC serves as the epilogue for the main story, where Vergil is weak and broken and falls on his fathers tomb, accessing a dimension where he is haunted by his torments.

I highly recommend Devil may Cry. It’s a great action game that hangs with the best the genre can offer. The environment is the same throughout the DLC though, it does get old, though the twists and turns and new movement mechanics do make up for this slightly.

Vergil does have some sweet moves, but it feels like a lot more could have been done. DmC doesn't feel old and stale. It feels new and fresh and furious, eager to prove itself and more than capable.
