Very good very scary, Amazing sense of vulnerabilty as you have no weapons. When you do stumble across one of the many deformed and horrific inmates the only options are to run or hide. It's like if Slender was actually a good game and actually had a budget. Outlast puts you in the worst situation imaginable and strips away everything that would give you a sense of security. No weapons, no way to fight back, no sense of safety, ever.

Absolutely terrifying and intense from start to finish. You will feel nothing but fear and horror throughout the entire game, it's simply amazing. This sense of helplessness is compounded by excellent and creepy sound design and brilliant environmental design with excellent and incredibly atmospheric lighting. This means you can see something horrible, you now its there and you know that soon your going to be confronted.
